Exciting Adventures at the Twin Tigers HAF Summer Camp

The Twin Tigers Community Partnership’s inaugural Holiday Activities and Food (HAF) Summer Camp, funded by Devon County Council, took place from 29 July to 22 August 2024. This event provided eligible children aged 11-16 with a unique opportunity for fun, learning, and nutritious meals, all at no cost.

Over the course of the camp, approximately 12 young participants engaged in a variety of exciting activities, including wrestling sessions, crazy golf in Lyme Regis, fossil hunting, trips to Seaton Wetlands, and a memorable day at the Honiton Show. In addition to these thrilling outings, Chef Aaron Burnham taught the students essential preparation skills, focusing on healthy foods from around the globe.

Feedback from attendees has been overwhelmingly positive. Participants expressed their enjoyment with comments like, “We have done so many activities and had great food,” and “Fun activities, very good atmosphere, and great meals.” Many also praised the “fantastic staff” and the overall organization of the program.

Twin Tigers Community Partnership is dedicated to supporting the well-being of young people during school holidays, ensuring they return to school ready to thrive. The HAF program not only addresses the nutritional needs of participants but also fosters social interaction and personal development through enriching activities.

As the success of this summer camp has sparked interest, Twin Tigers is exploring the possibility of running another HAF program during the Christmas and New Year holidays. By continuing to provide safe spaces for learning and growth, Twin Tigers aims to positively impact the lives of children and families in the community.
