The Twin Tigers Community Partnership has recently welcomed the bus with a big heart, affectionately known as the “Wendy Bus”, into our family and we can’t wait to see all the wonderful places it will take us.
Named in loving memory of Wendy Woolcombe, who sadly passed away in the Glen in 2018, this minibus has been a local hero for the past four years.
It has served the Honiton area effectively, particularly during the COVID-19 pandemic, by helping deliver meals from the Random Kitchen to those in need and allowing local non-profit groups to make good use of the bus through TRIP. This was all part of Wendy’s family’s wish to give back to the community she cherished. Talk about a bus with a mission.

Tony McCollum hands over the keys of the “Wendy Bus” to Paul Quick of Twin Tigers Community Partnership on behalf of the family of Wendy Woolcombe.
And now, thanks to the generosity of Wendy’s sister Mandy Garret and East Devon Councillor Tony McCollum, the Wendy Bus is getting a new home with us at Twin Tigers!
This summer, the Wendy Bus has already been put to good use during our inaugural Holiday Activities and Food (HAF) Summer Camp when the bus helped transport 12 young participants on an incredible journey of adventure and learning. Whether it was cruising to crazy golf in Lyme Regis, heading to fossil hunting expeditions, or making a memorable trip to the Honiton Show, the Wendy Bus was our trusty companion.

Logos of the various sponsors who have helped to make this all possible are prominently displayed on the minibus.
We couldn’t have done this without some amazing local businesses stepping up to help:
- Taylor Signs made sure our bus looks fabulous with free graphics
 - Curt Willis Motors took care of servicing and maintenance, including adding four shiny new tyres
 - Walking Woofs ensured we’re covered with RAC membership
 - CoolHeat Southwest is helping us keep the wheels turning with funding for fuel costs
 - and let’s not forget the Norman Family Trust which provided a generous £2,500 grant for insurance

Huge thanks to Taylors Signs for the beautiful graphics.
With the Wendy Bus now in our care, we’re ready to hit the road and make even more memories.
We’re committed to honouring Wendy’s legacy by serving our club and the entire Honiton community. Here’s to many adventures ahead — let’s keep Wendy’s spirit alive and thriving as we drive into the future together.
